Landmark East welcomes students from around the world to our campus. International students enhance the cultural diversity of the boarding school experience. In the last decade, students have attended the school from across Canada and the following countries around the world:
Turks & Caicos
United Arab Emirates
It is the responsibility of the parents to arrange the student’s travel and any clearance of customs that may be involved when shipping belongings to the school. Glen Currie, the Director of Students, is available to organize “ground transportation” to and from the Halifax international Airport and Digby Ferry Terminal.
Holidays & School Breaks
Landmark East is closed only twice during the school year – Christmas and Spring Break. Parents are required to find accommodations for their child at these times as Landmark East cannot assume guardianship responsibilities during these holidays.
International students are required to have a Student Visa/Study Permit to attend Landmark East. Information can be obtained from the Canadian Embassy, Consulate or Mission in the student’s country of origin. Click here for further information.
This process should begin as soon as a student is accepted by Landmark East as the time involved in obtaining a student visa/study permit varies from country to country. Please note that students must renew their student visa/study permit every year they are in attendance at the school.
In order to obtain a student visa/study permit, parents must submit the following documents with their application:
- proof of registration
- notarized statutory declaration
- proof of funds
- an open airline ticket.

It is recommended that all non-landed, offshore students have medical insurance coverage while attending Landmark East School. Parents may obtain this health insurance from Ingle International at an approximate cost of $600 per year. Alternately, parents must provide the Admissions Office with the required authorization and credit card information that permits the payment of all medical expenses. It is then the responsibility of the parents to complete and submit any medical claims to their insurance company.
Health insurance can be purchased online at www.studyinsured.ca or by calling toll free: 1-888-386-8888.
