Boarding at Landmark East School
Belonging. Confidence. Growth.

Welcome to Our Boarding Community

For many students, coming to Landmark East School is more than a change of school, it is the beginning of a new chapter. Here, students discover that they are understood as learners and valued for who they are as individuals.

Our boarding community is intentionally small and supportive. Students quickly come to know one another across grades and backgrounds, and the adults who care for them each day take the time to know them as individuals. Whether sharing meals, studying together, or exploring the region on weekends, students become part of a community where they feel comfortable being themselves.

For some students, boarding is their first experience living away from home. Our goal is to make that transition a positive and empowering one, helping students build independence, confidence, and friendships that often last a lifetime.

The same specialized understanding of how students with learning differences succeed in the classroom shapes the routines and support systems within our boarding community.

As both a day and boarding school, we welcome students from across Atlantic Canada and beyond. Our boarding program provides additional structure, independence-building, and a close-knit community where students feel a true sense of belonging.

We would love to introduce you to the people and experiences that make boarding at Landmark East School such a meaningful part of student life.

Where Students Live, Learn, and Grow in Confidence

Boarding is available for students in Grade 7 – 12.

For many families, deciding to send a child to boarding school can bring a mix of emotions. Worrying about the distance, and hoping that your child will finally find a place where they can grow and thrive.

At Landmark East School, boarding is not simply a place to live. It is a community where students are known, supported, and encouraged every day.

Our students live and learn together on a small, close-knit campus nestled in beautiful Atlantic Canada. Caring adults, small classes, and a strong sense of belonging create an environment where students develop confidence, independence, and lasting friendships.

For many students, boarding becomes the place where they begin to see themselves differently: more capable, more independent, and more confident in who they are becoming.

Landmark East School — where students live, learn, and discover strengths they may never have realized they had.

A Community That Feels Like Home

For many students, coming to Landmark East School means stepping into a community where they are finally understood as learners and as individuals. Surrounded by peers who share similar experiences and educators who know how to support them, students often begin to see themselves in a new and more confident light.

Because our community is intentionally small, students are not just another face in the crowd. They are known, valued, and supported by both their peers and the adults who care for them each day. Meals are shared, stories are exchanged, and friendships grow naturally through everyday moments.

Our Student Life Team provides additional support for new students, especially during those first few weeks on campus. They help students build friendships, establish routines, and feel comfortable in their new home.

Adjusting to boarding life can take time, and our team understands that every student’s transition looks a little different. By providing guidance, encouragement, and steady support, we help students gradually build the confidence that allows them to feel at home here.

Over time, many students find they can let go of the frustration they may have felt in other environments and instead focus on discovering their strengths, building confidence, and experiencing success in ways that may once have felt out of reach.
Caring Staff Who Who Know Your Child

One of the most important parts of the boarding experience at Landmark East School is the presence of caring adults who know each student. From our boarding team and teachers to our Social Emotional Learning Coordinator and kitchen staff, the adults on campus work closely together to support each student: academically, socially, and personally.

Whether a student needs help with schoolwork, guidance through a challenge, or simply someone to talk with at the end of the day, there is always a trusted adult nearby.

A Safe and Supportive Environment

Our boarding students are supported by a dedicated team. During the daytime (Monday to Friday) students have the support of their teachers. In the evenings and on the weekends, the Student Life Team provides structured routines and a close-knit campus environment that helps ensure students feel both safe and supported as they grow in independence.

Security

Landmark East School has two Overnight Security Guards who are available to our boarding students throughout the evening hours. They are also responsible to make outdoor rounds to ensure the campus is safe.

Staying Connected with Home

While students gain independence in boarding life, staying connected with family remains important, and that is why we maintain open lines of communication between parents and staff. Our collaborative approach helps ensure families remain an important part of the student experience.

Exploring and Experiencing The East Coast

Weekends at Landmark East School offer students time to relax, explore, and enjoy the many experiences that life in Atlantic Canada has to offer. Our Student Life Team thoughtfully plan activities that invite students to stay active, connect with nature, explore their creativity, and spend meaningful time together.

These shared experiences often become some of the most memorable moments of boarding life. Through them, students build confidence, strengthen friendships, and develop the independence that comes from exploring the world around them in a supportive community.

From outdoor adventures and recreational activities to arts, cultural experiences, and local outings, weekends provide students with opportunities to try new things and discover new interests.

Boarding offers students the opportunity to take meaningful steps toward independence while still being surrounded by guidance and support.

For many students, this growth becomes one of the most meaningful parts of their time at Landmark East School.
