Alanna Saunders
Teacher, Study Hall Coordinator
Alanna Saunders, joined the Landmark East School team in 2019 and teaches English, Canadian History, Global Geography, Intensive Support and Learning Strategies. Alanna has also taught Social Relations 10 and Miꞌkmaq studies. In her role as the Study Hall Coordinator, she brings a perfect mix of clarity and fun. Alanna appreciates working in a school where we all know the students by name and are able to provide them with the support they need in our small, tight knit environment.

Tony Hadjisterkoti
Teacher
Tony Hadjisterkoti has served the Landmark East School community for 28 years. Tony is not only the school’s IT Coordinator, but he also teaches Social Studies, Exploring Technology, Multimedia, and Middle School Technology. Tony loves to connect hands-on activities with curriculum outcomes. His enthusiasm for finding the best way to reach every student is contagious.

Myles Wilbur
Teacher
Myles Wilbur joined the Landmark East School team in 2021. During his time, he has taught Mathematics 9, 11, 12, Precalculus, and Chemistry 11 and 12. Myles has a passion for continued learning and construction. Myles leads the way with our intramural program.

Madison Sweeney
Teacher
Madison Sweeney has taught at Landmark East School since 2023. Madison was a preservice teacher at Landmark East School in 2022. In 2023, Madison taught Art, English and Learning Strategies. This year she is teaching Mathematics 7, 8, and 10. She also teaches Successful Me and Intensive Support. Madison enjoys traveling to Yarmouth during her breaks, to reconnect with family and friends.

Sherry Ingalls
Teacher
Sherry Ingalls is not only a highly qualified teacher she is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist with a strong educational background in the field of literacy. Sherry focuses on literacy, phonological awareness, phonics, morphology, syntax, comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary. Sherry uses a multi-sensory, explicit and structured teaching approach with her students - who in turn see dramatic improvements in their reading, spelling and Phonological Awareness skills. Sherry has been supporting student growth at Landmark East School since 2022.

Brooke Barkhouse
Teacher
Brooke Barkhouse is serving in her sixth year at Landmark East School. Brooke teaches Science grade 7, 8 and 10, Biology 11 and 12, Intensive Support and Learning Strategies. Brooke approaches her teaching with a focus on growth mindset towards subjects that students often find challenging. She wants the students to see that with practice and support, they can find their success. Brooke runs Landmark East School’s GSA club and is an avid crocheter.

Amanda Lombard
Teacher, Student Leader and Volunteer Coordinator
Amanda Lombard joined the Landmark East School community in 2004. She served on the Self-Esteem team for 2 years and then moved into the classroom where she teaches mathematics, learning strategies, and physics. Amanda loves anything soccer, especially the Netherlands soccer team - her Oma and Opa were from Amsterdam. For the last few years, Amanda has served as the Student Leadership and Volunteer Coordinator, where she helps inspire the students to be their best.

Jade Veinotte
Teacher
Jade Veniotte was a preservice teacher at Landmark East School in 2023 and was hired in 2024. Jade teaches English, Learning Strategies and Successful Me. In her classroom, Jade focuses on creating meaningful connections which she feels helps encourage student success. She makes her students feel welcome and included both in and out of the classroom. Jade also has worked with the boarding students as part of the Student Life Team.

Theresa Saunders
Teacher
Theresa Saunders has been part of the Landmark East School community since 2015. Theresa brings her background as a chef and her love of English. Theresa works closely with the students, focusing on building and developing reading skills, she has made a lasting impression on many. Theresa teaches Learning Strategies and English to middle and high school students as well as the Co-op program.

Nichole Pothier
Teacher
Nichole Pothier has brought her enthusiasm and passion for teaching to Landmark East School classrooms since 2017. Nichole has taught elementary and middle school Language Arts, Social Studies, Intensive Support, Art, and Successful Me. She has also taught elementary Math and Science. Nichole competes on local barrel racing circuits with her horse Born to Boogie and lives on a family-run farm in the Annapolis Valley.

Moira Taylor
Teacher, Literacy and Professional Development Coordinator
Moira Taylor has been working at Landmark East since 2017 and primarily teaches Intensive Support and Learning Strategies classes, as well as Grade 12 English. Moira loves to bring a mix of reading, writing, viewing, and listening to her classes to help students connect to the world around them and learn critical thinking skills. Moira also serves as Landmark East School’s Literacy Coordinator and Professional Development Coordinator.

Sandie Beyea
Social Emotional Learning Coordinator
When Sandie Beyea first arrived at Landmark East school in 2018, she served on the Student Life Team. Her background and training includes working with troubled youth in crisis so she brings a lot of experience to Landmark East School. In 2020, Sandie took on the role as the school’s Social Emotional Learning Coordinator. Together, Sandie and her partner, Arf (THE therapeutic bunny), create a safe place for students to self-reflect and grow by helping students work through interpersonal struggles and learn regulation and coping strategies.

Sheonagh McCullough
Speech Language Pathologist
Sheonagh McCullough has been helping students as Landmark East School’s Speech Language Pathologist since 2016. Sheonagh has a wonderfully peaceful way of being and helps our students slow down and regulate. Sheonagh is more than an SLP, she brings strong communication skills and works with the students in oral expression classes, which is a great opportunity to have fun with language and open up opportunities to strengthen their skill development.
