ACADEMIC DIRECTORS
Our Academic Directors are at the heart of each grade level - Elementary, Middle, and High School. They take the time to know every student personally and oversee their progress, ensuring that learning plans are tailored to individual strengths and needs. By carefully guiding each child’s progress, they ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and encouraged to grow. With a blend of leadership, care, and expertise, our Academic Directors provide both students and families with steady guidance and support throughout each stage of the learning journey.
Shawn Cottrell
Elementary School Director
Shawn Cottrell grew up in the Greater Toronto Area and attributes this to his love of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Shawn says that being part of the Landmark East School community is like being part of a family. This means caring about, not just the academic aspect of our students, but also the social, emotional, and mental aspects as well. Shawn has served the Landmark East School community since 2013 and is now in his second year as the Elementary School Director. Shawn loves to play the guitar and recently learned the bass.
Shannon Callaghan
Middle School Director
Shannon Callaghan has been part of the Landmark East School landscape since 2000. Shannon brings an array of skills from teaching science to working as the Social Emotional Learning Facilitator. Shannon’s enthusiasm and passion for learning are contagious - she inspires the students to strive for their best everyday. Shannon has served in the role as the Middle School Director for the past two years and brings her expertise, compassion and caring approach to all she does. When not teaching, Shannon can be found playing the saxophone.
Dana Caulfield
High School Director
Dana Caulfield has been a part of the Landmark East School community since 2013. As High School Director, she enjoys teaching Successful Me and Learning Strategies, which are courses that reflect her passion for guiding students through growth and discovery. With a background in Math and Sciences, she believes that learning from challenges leads to success. Dana loves being active outdoors, and exploring creative projects. She finds great joy in learning new things and helping others find success.
