Communication Books
Each student receives a Communication Book that is designed to keep parents up to date throughout the school year with comments and objectives from each teacher who deals directly with the student.  An effort is made to emphasize the positive aspects of a student’s progress and short-term goals.  The communication updates are scanned and emailed to parents of boarding students every two weeks.

Advisors
When school begins in September, all students are assigned an academic advisor (called an Educational Consultant) and an athletic and boarding advisor.  These teachers/mentors strives to understand the issues and goals of each student.   Since students and advisors share experiences, both actively and through discussion, they know each other very well.  We encourage regular contact by email and telephone between the advisors and the parents.

Parent Days
There are two Parent Days scheduled during the school year – in November and February.  During these times, parents have an opportunity to speak to the faculty and staff that deal directly with their children.  The also have the opportunity to network with other parents, faculty, staff and board members during a luncheon hosted in their honor.

Parent Referral Program
Many parents making an application for their child to attend Landmark East like to speak with parents of current or alumni students.  With your permission, we will only give your home telephone number and email address to prospective parents so they can contact you.  By being part of the Parent Referral Program, you have the opportunity to share your child’s successes at Landmark East with other families whose children are struggling academically.

Host Family Support
We invite our parents to be a “host parent” for one of our international students or long distance out-of-province students.  Invite a student to your home for a weekend or a holiday break and share your family traditions with them and learn about their way of life.
