Landmark East offers the services of a Guidance Counsellor. Jeannette MacKeen comes to Landmark East with a background in Family Therapy and Marriage Counselling. She is certified with the Canadian Counselling Association and the Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia Association of Counselling Therapists
She has both professional and personal experience with children and adolescents having learning disabilities. Dealing with ADHD in her own family and realizing there was little support for parents, she founded a support group for parents of children with ADHD. During this involvement she participated in Teacher In-Service Day from the perspective of a parent and was also asked to lecture to Master of Education students at Mount Saint Vincent University. While studying for her Master's degree, she spent the better part of a year doing a field placement at the Child and Adolescent Services at the Valley Regional Hospital.
Ms. Mackeen maintains a private practice as well as seeing clients through the Valley Pastoral Counselling Services Association in Wolfville.
Graduating students at Landmark East also work with our Guidance Counselor and their Academic Advisor/Educational Consultant when searching for the right college and university placement.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Jeannette McKeen by email or by calling 902-542-2237 ext 233 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
